Die Geschichte beginne holprig, danach würden kurz die Parameter etabliert und die Bedrohung angedeutet. Schade, dass diese Ideen nicht weiter ausgelotet werden, sondern bald wieder den ausgetretenen Mustern des Zombie-Films Platz machen.
Endzeit ist der erste Film dieses Genres, der von den Hauptfiguren bis hin zu Regie, Drehbuch, Produktion, Kamera, Filmmusik, Schnitt, Szenenbild und Maske in weiblicher Hand lag.
Die Hauptrollen Eva und Vivi wurden mit den Schauspielerinnen Maja Lehrer und Gro Swantje Kohlhof besetzt.

There is so much emotion and intensity packed into this film, along with an appropriate amount of actual and implied gore. I can testify that the emotions I not only felt but showed had such a range. My reactions alone would be enough to draw someone into this film. The film is in German with English subtitles. The protection barrier was less then what I would expect from the Germans who know how to build a wall around a city. The city was run with German efficiency as surviving was being close to like being in prison. Along the way, we meet the gardener who combines Biblical theology and Nietzsche's. Not only does Endzeit not bother with another tedious walk on the treadmill of a familiar onset-of-the-apocalypse, it’s not going to take a recognizable path through the afterscape, either.
